Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, its Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". Trossachs Gate Cottage was constructed around 1900 .Originally used as a stable and hay loft. The upper floor was added in 1926 and was a meeting place for residents of the Aberfoyl Village. Steeped in the rich history of William Wallace and Rob Roy Magregor, Aberfoyl is a gateway village to The Trossachs and Loch Lomond National Park and is only a 30 minute drive from Stirling Castle, the Wallace monument and some of the most beautiful lochs and sceenery in Scotland.

You will be surrounded on all sides by fields, woods or mountains but yet be close enough to pop out for a coffee and cake at the local village or taste a wee dram at the Glengoyne whisky distillery.

The guest house has a double bed with en suite with a separate living area, with sofa, TV and table for 2. The sofa pulls down to provide a small bed, but we recommend this is for a 1 or 2 small children, or if someone can't sleep/partner snores!
