Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. The Gathering place is a "barndominium" studio that sleeps 4 comfortably, just 10 miles to South Haven beaches and SW Michigan wine trails. Beautiful updated home is perfect for families with upstairs and downstairs sleeping space. Upstairs has a spacious master bedroom with 1 king bed and sofa bed and a master bath. Bedroom 2 boasts 2 twin size beds as well as bedroom 3 (2 twin beds). Downstairs has a spacious kitchen & living area with 2 futon beds. Outside a spacious patio with fire pit close by. Home is close to Jollay Orchards & Contessa Wine Cellars. Beautiful St. Joseph and Silver Beach are 20 minutes away.

Cabin in the Woods

The cabin is nestled to the back of the 3.6 acres of a private wooded land with a short walk to the all sport lake. The updated home features two bedrooms, sleeping loft, family room, washer/dryer, all the amenities of home. Enjoy the 160 ft of lakefront off our private dock. We have 2 kayaks, a Canoe and a small fishing boat, floaties and life vests for boating or swimming. Enjoy a day at the lake, cook dinner on one of our grills and enjoy the evening by the firepit.
