It's on a one-lane road in the Black Valley, ideal for hiking and bike riding in a peaceful, quiet, secluded location. It can be reached from Moll's Gap (3km), 17km from the Gap of Dunloe, 25km from Carrauntoohil, and 13km from Kenmare, the nearest town, where you'll find pubs and restaurants. It also adjoins Killarney Park and The Ring of Kerry. The wagon is a good place to escape to. Lie in bed in the morning, read your book, hear the birds sing, see the sun peeking over the mountain. On a fine evening, you can light a fire. You might see a fox, you might see a deer or a hare. One time I saw a red squirrel playing in the Oak tree. Bring your sketch pad, your journal, your knitting. This is a place to rest and recuperate. It’s also a good stop off for people walking the Beara Way.

A 15 / 20 minute drive from Killarney on route to the famous Ring of Kerry in the middle of the Reeks District voted in the top 5 destinations to visit in the Rough Guide. 7 minutes to Killorglin the home of Puck Fair the oldest festival in Ireland. This cottage is set at the foot of the McGillycuddy Reeks with a view of Carrantuohill. Perfect for hiking, walking and cycling... The space sleeps 2 people. The heating is electric.
