Secluded Off-Grid Mountain Cottage

Private stand-alone cottage on a beautiful farm 1.5 hours north of Cape town and 30-40 minutes from Elands Bay. This is a very simple, off-grid, self-catering cottage with beautiful mountain views, a dam to swim in and hiking access to the entire 2000 hectare farm. The farm has established hiking and mountain biking trails, horse riding on request and established sport and trad rock climbing routes. The cottage has two fireplaces, a gas stove, fridge, a 'donkey' water heater and solar power.

The house in Lalaland

You’ll love my place because it is on top of a mountain where you are surrounded by fruit orchids and mountains. Also, loadshedding does not affect us as we are on solar. We are only 160km from Cape town. We live right next door but do not mind a good party, all within limits of course! The dam is a short walk away where you are welcome to use the two paddle boards and canoe. The house can keep you entertained with pool table, boardgames, books, WIFI and ping pong table.

House Sonop: Churchhaven

Tucked away on the shores of the West Coast National Park you will find a Private Secure Reserve called Pottebakkery, which is one of the villages comprising the greater area commonly known as Churchhaven. This is where you will find House Sonop, an original fisherman's cottage beautifully restored in the traditional vernacular style. The the position of the cottage shelters it against the prevailing winds yet access to the sheltered waters of the lagoon is a mere 60 meters away.

Langebaan Garden Cottage is a two room cottage with an ensuite. You can relax on the patio with a glass of wine while the fire in the braai is burning. The cottage have a kitchenette with a fridge, a stove, a microwave, kettle and a coffee maker. You may make use of the swimming pool with a bench in it where your dreams will get wings. You have a beautiful backyard which you must share with the owners. The neighbourhood is quiet and the beach is walking distance.

The cabin can accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. Both bedrooms contain double beds and air-conditioning. There is a cement dam with clean wind pump water that guests can swim in. The patio overlooks the farm where wild game like Springbok, Cape Mountain Zebra, and the elusive cape fox can be seen. A KolKol hot tub is provided and extra wood is available to be purchased.
