There is no beach access from the property but we're just a short walk to the Alders Beach which offers long stretches of sand for walking, swimming and exploring tidal pools. Our cottage is a cozy little "get away" for couples or a single person, situated on .6 acres of park like setting , quiet and restful, near host's home and across from the beach a few minutes walk away. Close by: Kingfisher Resort and Spa is a 5 minute drive away for pampering yourself with a good meal or spa treatments. Mt Washington Alpine Resort is 45 minutes away for skiing cross country or downhill in the winter, and hiking in the summer. Seaside swimming, reading and relaxing!

Heather Cottage - Beautiful Wetland Views

Charming small cottage situated on the edge of wetlands with beautiful views. Private gazebo with covered firepit and a dock over looking the large pond. Located on our 5 acre free range egg farm in Merville, BC. The pond is home to a family of beavers, bald eagles, blue heron and various birds. Private walking trail off the cottage and access to the One Spot Trail at the end of our private drive. We are 20 mins from downtown Courtenay and 10 mins to the Mount Washington turn off.

The Eagle's Nest is an entirely private, gorgeously renovated kitchenette suite at tree top level, filled with light, with brand new bathroom, amenities, and comfort. Private deck and sweeping, one of a kind views of the Strait of Georgia, the coastal mountains, passing deer, eagles overhead, and the sounds of waves and seals from the beach below.
