Eco self contained cottage in a garden.

This mini 1 bedroom house was our trial run in building our main home using passive house principles. We are approx 1 km from the centre of Westbury in a rural location. (You may be lucky enough to sight some of our local wildlife during your stay! ) The cottage is suitable for a couple, however the extra single bed does enable some flexibility for guests.(i.e. if you wish to use both beds, please book for 3 people.) We provide a library of information about sustainability for guest perusal.

Located near the entrance to Warners Track which leads to the gorgeous Central Plateau with a challenging climb to Pine Lake and Adams Peak. With two bedrooms, a study and two living areas, there’s plenty of space to enjoy reading a book by the fire, listening to music or resting on the day bed in the afternoon sun after doing one of the many nearby bush walks in the World Heritage Zone. Enjoy the wildlife; wallabies, wombats, pademelons, possums and echidnas are all frequent visitors.

Wylah Cottage, Deloraine, Secluded Bush Retreat

Nestling in a forest of Peppermint Gums is Wylah Cottage, so named after the Aboriginal word for the Yellow Tailed, Black Cockatoo, which is regularly seen and heard around the property. A secluded, self contained, bush retreat, located close to all the good things Tasmania has to offer. On 55 acres of bushland, teeming with wildlife, yet only 7kms from Deloraine – on the way to Cradle Mountain, and 45 minutes to either the Devonport Ferry, or Launceston Airport.

Inspired by reflections of yesteryear the cottage pays homage to the pioneers of the highlands, and the huts they lived in. Blackwood Cottage is a private, 1 bedroom, cottage that is situated on a farm at Blackwood Creek in Tasmania. The cottage is set within a grazing paddock and is only a 2 minute walk from Brumbys Creek. The property is nestled into the base of the Great Western Tiers which provides great opportunity for bushwalking and wildlife viewing. Blackwood Cottage is the perfect place to use as a base for outdoor adventures or as a place to relax in front of the fireplace.
