The Caretaker's Cottage was built in the 1770s by Ruben Merriwether, and sits near the manor house where he and his ancestors lived at Roundabout Hills. Welcome to the The loft at Lakeside! The loft is a completely separate space that comes with its own entrance and parking space. The loft consists of a spacious bedroom with a walk-in closet. There is a full bathroom in the bedroom and a half bath near the kitchen. The main space consists of spacious Kitchen that sits right next to the cozy family room, with a large couch. It also has a full laundry room for anyone looking to take home clean clothes after an amazing stay at The Loft.

Spruce Run Cottage, Farm stay on Catoctin Mountain

The cottage is located on 25 acres of mostly wooded terrain off Highway 17 near Wolfsville, Maryland, less than an hour and a half from D.C. The cottage faces the woods and the private drive down to the creek. There is almost zero light pollution at night so stargazing is incredible from the balcony. The hosts live on the property up the hill in an 1890’s chink log cabin. Although you can see our house, the cottage feels very private and is a quiet comfortable retreat in the hills.
