Ilen Cottage is a peaceful hide away, for two, on the edge of the Ilen Estuary. With access to the water sailing, kayaking, swimming good, observe sea birds, seals and otters. Walking and exploring islands are also popular activities here. The cottage is 15mins from Skibbereen and Ballydehob and a perfect base for exploring beautiful West Cork. This is self catering accommodation so best to pick up your provisions in Skibbereen and experience the many restaurants in Ballydehob and around.

The mezzanine bedroom boasts a kingsize sleigh bed , overlooking a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove for warming your hands and feet after a walk on the beach or a dip in the sea. For small families the sofa in the sitting room converts into a comfortable single bed. Shepherds Hut overlooking Kilmackilogue Harbour

We are situated on the Beara Peninsula, just up the road from Helen's Bar in Kilmackilogue. Our Shepherds Hut called The Bothy, overlooks the sea, and is three minutes walk to the beach. Enjoy nature at its best with views of Kenmare Bay and its surrounding mountains. It is a hikers paradise, lying just off 'The Beara Way' . Cyclists will also be in their element with The Healy Pass a few kilometres away. Kenmare is half an hour away with wonderful shops and restaurants.
