No deductibles or prorating
Earnings Protection doesn’t have a deductible, and each time a claim is approved you’ll get your full payout. The annual policy provides full coverage from day one of your term, even if you’re paying monthly.
Making and verifying a claim
You’ll submit an Earnings Protection claim by completing a short form about the covered event. If a severe natural disaster is reported by one of the data providers named in the policy, a claim will be started for you. When you file a claim, you’ll need to submit evidence, such as photos of damage or documentation of road closures. A third-party insurance adjuster may contact you for additional details before your claim is approved. After your claim is approved, you’ll also complete a short form confirming your loss to receive your payout.
Earnings Protection and other insurance policies
Earnings Protection is insurance for your income, so it can work alongside other policies. For example, if you have a separate plan that covers property damage, claiming unexpected damages under that plan won’t conflict with an Earnings Protection claim.Since everyone’s situation is different, talk with your insurer to see how, or if, a policy overlaps with Earnings Protection insurance.
Differences from AirCover for Hosts
Host damage protection under AirCover for Hosts provides protection every time you welcome guests. It’s not insurance, but rather a guarantee that generally reimburses you for damage caused by guests to things like your home, furnishings, or belongings if the responsible guest doesn’t pay for the damage.Earnings Protection is insurance that covers lost income if you can’t host because of a covered event, which includes damage caused by guests that’ll take at least 4 days to repair. Even if you have no upcoming bookings, you can claim your Earnings Protection payout, as long as you confirm lost income by completing a short form.
Coverage starts the day after purchase
You’ll see the dates for your one-year policy term on the checkout page. Coverage starts the day after you purchase the policy.Earnings Protection won’t cover issues that you knew about or events that started before the policy purchase date. For example, property damage or any other qualifying event that happens before your policy’s start date will not be covered.
Earnings Protection is not yet available in Indiana, Maine, Missouri, New Jersey, and New York.
