The Stables

The original stable to historic 160 year old Telegraph House has been renovated to a self contained one bedroom guesthouse with new en-suite , living area and well equipped kitchenette with fridge, microwave, cooktop and coffee machine. The living area has a wood burner fireplace, table and chairs, sofa, television, internet (NBN) and French doors opening onto verandah. The property has a secure yard and stall for a horse - $20 per night - and plenty of secure off street parking for a rig.

With a wrap-around balcony on two sides, the view from both inside & outside takes in glimpses of Barrington Tops National Park to the north, expansive views of surrounding farms, valleys & hills to the east & south, and the township of Dungog below. The native birds at dusk are a delight. "The Birdnest" is ideal for up to 2 couples, or a family of 4 (or 5?).

We are ideally situated for those who need to break their journey. We are approximately an 7 1/2 hour drive from Brisbane and 4 1/2 hours from Sydney and we are located 2 minutes off the New England Highway. It is a fully self contained, air conditioned cottage with a large bedroom, separate bathroom, lounge & fully equipped kitchen, situated in a quiet rural environment. There is a local pub which serves evening meals Tuesday to Sunday and great cafes nearby in Quirindi and Willow Ttree.

For the winter months there is a cosy wood burning heater and an outdoor fire pit .

The Old School Weathershed is located in the small and vibrant village of Gundy, 20km east of Scone in the Upper Hunter. Boasting lovely scenery, horse studs, cycling and bushwalking it is a beautiful, tranquil part of NSW with plenty to see and do. The Old School of Gundy was built in the late 1800's and converted to a stunning home in recent times. The Weather Shed is the children's playground shelter, beautifully converted into luxury guest accommodation.
