We are going to spend a whole day into nature, hiking into the wood, enjoying breathtaking panoramas, hearing the sound of nature and releasing our stress while catching positive vibrations from the surroundings, until we will be reaching an abandoned and suggestive slate pit that is famous to have been the set of the video of a well-known Italian singer (Claudio Baglioni - Cuore di aliante).

I suggest to consider the possibility of using the pit as a set to take wonderful and particular pictures.
Other things to note
Please be ready to dress and undress in order to meet different temperatures.

I love to feel welcomed in the wood with its smell and colours and end up high enough to see endless breathtaking panoramas or down enough to splash in solitary beaches without impacting the environment.

We'll start directly into the wood, uphills, until we reach "Piani di Caravaggio", an open space with a breathtaking view both on the East side (Rapallo, Chiavari, Lavagna, Sestri Levante) and on the West Side (Recco, Bogliasco, Genova and further).

Hiking plain, we'll reach "Passo del Gallo" where there is a picnic area to stop and have lunch.

After lunch we'll continue until the slate pit, pause there, take pictures, and come back.

Hike with Miguel was remarkable, enjoyable and memorable. Lots of good vistas from remote part of the area. We hiked nearly 12 miles per my app so I was ready to rest when we returned. As fun for me was stimulating conversation with Miguel and visit to the family home for snacks homemade by Angiola and more great conversation. I will remember this day as a highlight of our trip.

Bellissima passeggiata dentro a boschi verdissimi e ricchi di felci, con punti panoramici su Rapallo e/o Recco. Il sentiero è perlopiù pianeggiante, eccetto un paio di salite non particolarmente impegnative. Il percorso è di circa km 17 e le 5 ore stimate di cammino sono corrette. La cava di ardesia, meta della camminata, è un'interessante aspetto della storia del territorio. Angiola e Miguel sono persone molto accoglienti e Miguel è un accompagnatore affabile e disponibile. Ha rispettato il mio ritmo di camminata ed ha tenuto conto, per il pic-nic, dei limiti alimentari che gli avevo comunicato. Passeggiata accessibile a chi abbia il piacere di camminare e di conoscere un pò di più di questa terra bellissima. Esperienza consigliatissima.

It was a great and exhausting experience! If you want to see something different than the beach, you should definitely join the hiking to the slate mine. The guide, Miguel, tells and knows a lot about the environment which makes that you learn while hiking ! It is a long walk but it’s worth it :)
