Discover the secrets, the traditional techniques in a true hunting of the precious white or black truffle with a professional "Trifolao" and his inseparable dog.
Understand how, where & why truffles grow up in our area, learn the differences between black & white truffle, enjoy the intense & costant scent, understanding the degree of ripening of a truffle by your nose.
You will meet me or Margherita at Alba train station, then you will be led up the surrounding Langhe's hills to admire the striking view, walking through it, enjoying the nature & of course looking for truffle!!
Then after hunting you will have a wine tasting in a typical family's conduction cellar where you will taste their great wines as Barolo or Barbaresco, Barbera, arneis, tasting typical & local product as salame cheese and grissini.
WHITE TRUFFLE HUNTING SEASON from 30th September until 31st January
BLACK TRUFFLE HUNTING SEASON from 1st February until 29th September.
The tour usually is shared with other guests; travelling alone & reserving for one we required € 50 as extra by cash directly the day of the tour( not in case someone joins that tour).
Childs under 9 years old free!!( reserving min. 2 guests)

My grandfather after 2nd world war was one of the first truffle hunting/seller in Alba,he taught to my father all the secrets about the precious "ipogean fungus" then my father taught it to me.i'm a dog trainer & actually i've got 3 great dogs: Stella, Kelly & Perla. I would like to teach "some"of my truffle hunting segrets to travellers. During the tour you will helped by my friend Margherita. She's an official tourist guide Cuneo province with great passion for truffles and wine providing to translate every part of the hunting.

we will start from Alba train station ( with your own car follow us) and you will led up in the surronding hills enjoying the huge view . then on walk You will be driven through the woods of the Langhe immersed in the nature. After Hunting tour continue visiting a family cellar & enjoying a Wine tasting.

This was a great experience! Beautiful locations and Margherita was great with communication and coordinating the meet up. She also provided us with tons of great information about the region throughout the day.

Tutto molto bello peccato solo che eravamo in tantissimi mi sarebbe piaciuto essere al massimo in sei! La guida poverina doveva tradurre ma con così tante parole ci si perde un po’ la magia di vedere il cane al lavoro! Esperienza super positiva comunque!

This was an awesome experience! Our guide spoke perfect english and was very patient and approachable. The hunter and his dog were really cool to get to know and watch work. It was clear they shared a special bond and I really enjoyed the whole process. The day ended perfectly with wine tasting at a gorgeous winery. The "follow by car" process was a little difficult keeping everyone together but in the end it was worth it because it allowed the different cars to leave or stay longer at the winery as they desired.

Esperienza molto piacevole e interessante. Il trifulau Max con il suo cane Kelly ci hanno dato modo di conoscere il lavoro e la passione che si nascondono dietro la ricerca dei tartufi. Disponibile a rispondere a tutte le nostre domande, devo dire che ne abbiamo fatte davvero tante. Piacevole passeggiata nei boschi dietro Alba, complice la stupenda giornata. Molto interessante anche la visita alla azienda vinicola Bruna Grimaldi a seguire. Spiegazione esaustiva sulla azienda, e sui vini della zona. Al termine degustazione dei principali vini delle Langhe da loro prodotti. Molto soddisfatti

We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of both truffle hunting (the dog found 4-5 truffle during our hike) and the winery visit afterwards, which exceeded our expectations. The host was very organized and personable and we enjoyed meeting the other guests. Very glad we did this!
