I will show you how to hold the hook, two basic stitches and how to read a pattern in symbols. I will find out your learning style and adapt my instructions to suit you. My job is to get you feeling confident and relaxed about crochet stitches. You will leave with new skills and confidence to keep on the crochet journey. My studios are set in a Sunshine Coast rainforest where we can learn on the deck, by the pool, in my air conditioned studios or sitting on the lounge chilling.
If you can already crochet, I will challenge you with different stitches, yarns and show you how to work with unusual yarns like raffia, hemp, silk and other natural fibres.
Other things to note
I will never overwhelm you with something you can't achieve. As an experienced and qualified educator, I will tailor-make to suit your learning groove. This could involve some fun and new friendship!

I'm addicted to crochet and want to share with you my love of crochet. To make something of your own is powerful. Let me show you how. Garments, accessories, interior design items, or just something simple. I was taught by my grandmother and enjoy challenging crochet or simple garments to make for friends. Ive been teaching crochet to children and adults for the past few years with success.

Melissa is incredibly creative and extremely talented in many areas. Both my partner and I had a fantastic time surrounded by the beautiful rainforest, extremely good music, learning how to crochet (we had very different learning styles and Melissa was at ease teaching us both), and enjoying all the knowledge Melissa had to share about a variety of topics. I was blown away by the creative and stunning pieces that are up around the place. You can learn so much from this experience! And I would recommend to everyone!
