I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

Kyoto Machiya w/ Shigaraki Open-Air Bath & Garden

Our house is a privately reserved traditional Kyoto machiya townhouse. Unlike a hotel, the entire house is exclusively for your group, allowing you to enjoy a peaceful and authentic stay in a local Kyoto neighbourhood. Inside the house you will find traditional tatami rooms, natural materials such as wood and clay walls, and a small garden with an open-air bath featuring a Shigaraki ceramic tub. Many guests choose for special occasions such as honeymoons, anniversaries, or memorable journeys.

TABITABI MITSU is a fully renovated 100-year-old Kyoto machiya near Rokuharamitsuji Temple. This private entire house offers a calm stay for one group per day. The entrance features historic stone paving once used for Kyoto’s streetcars. The flooring showcases traditional “Naguri” hand-carved textures. Enjoy a serene garden view and relax in the semi-open-air bath with a Shigaraki ceramic tub. Upstairs includes a tatami room and bedroom with refined design details.

Just 6 minutes by walk from subway Imadegawa station. You can walk to imperial palace in 10 minutes. You can stay like you live in Kyoto. We have wooden bath with small garden view. There are wooden deck besides living space, you will have relaxing time at the wooden deck with garden view. Electric bikes are rent for free. Fushimi Inari Taisha, Kiyomizudera, Yasaka Shrine, Tofukuji, Sanjo Ohashi, Uji, and Fujinomori Shrine can all be reached directly by train.
