Grab a bean bag and a book,sit in the bush or on the bush edge and allow nature to nurse you and relax.

Set amongst pohutukawa trees, this original 50's holiday house is located right on Whangamata beach. Enjoy unobstructed views of the ocean from the deck and huge front lawn. The famous Whenuakura (Donut Is.) is opposite as well as Hauturu Motu (Clark Is.), accessible on foot at low tide - a Kiwi rite of passage. Our AirBnB is a separate, self-contained wing of our beautiful new home in Totara, 3kms south of Thames Township and gateway to the Coromandel Peninsula. We are about an hour’s drive from Auckland International Airport and close to the many and varied attractions of the Coromandel and the Waikato Region. Easy access to the Hauraki Rail Trail. From our elevated position there are uninterrupted views over the township, Firth of Thames and the Kauaeranga Valley.

Our whimsical cottage is perched near the top of the tranquil Waitawheta Valley at the gateway into the Northern Kaimai Ranges. Enjoy river swimming and hiking right from the property or just relax on the deck and enjoy the beauty of the valley. 5 minute drive to the Hauraki Rail Trail and the award-winning Falls Retreat restaurant. 10 minutes drive into the heart of the Karangahake Gorge and Waihi and 15 minutes through to Paeroa or out to Waihi Beach.
