Ruthie’s Balcony Suite bears the name of our beloved family matriarch. And for good reason. It’s the best room in the house. Vaulted ceilings soar above a huge bedroom/living area, including a spacious kitchenette and full-sized bathroom. But it’s the balcony you’ll love most. Overlooking the corner of Esplanade and Chartres, it’s the perfect place to people-watch while enjoying the pot pourri of sounds that drift over from the nearby markets, jazz clubs, and bustling Mississippi waterfront.

Barbara Suite: 1 Br 1 Ba, work space + ferry to FQ

Our Barbara Suite has 1 bedroom with attached Bath and features a work space and two TVs, one Firestick enabled. I block away from the Mississippi River Levee bike and walking pathway to the Algiers Ferry, which connects you across the river to the French Quarter, Riverview Outlet Mall and Harrah's Casino. It features Individual climate control, a Keurig coffee maker, minifridge and microwave. It is 1 of 2 guest suites upstairs with an 8 ft wide hallway between them for quiet and privacy.

The Balcony Suite is an intimate space with a private bathroom. It was recently Restored/Renovated with new furnishings and fixtures. Monday-Friday 8-5 we're not a quiet corner but on any night it’s relaxing, providing a restful night. Our neighbor, Race & Religious, hosts weddings with live music but never past 11PM. Unwind in the courtyard and let the distant sounds of Jazz bands have you saying "Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler!". Free first come first serve street parking and metered/paid parking in the area. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee you will find free parking due to the activity of the French Quarter.

High ceilings with intricate plaster detail are featured in an antebellum mansion home built in 1851 which sits right in front of the streetcar/trolley stop. A great experience to be right there on "the Avenue" under the 250 year old oak trees. You can take our self guided walking tour through the Garden District and see one home after another built in 1800's, with names of architect (if known), year built and who lived there.
