Peace or Shanti (to which the Verandah belongs) along with the other houses in tree-filled Bose Compound, was built in the 1930s by my great grandfather, Aurobindo Bose, a devotee of Ramana Maharishi. Bose Compound is a 2min walk away from Ramana Ashram where one can also begin the climb up Arunachala. We're located on the Girivalam road with Nilgiris, small shops & eateries close by. It's an old place that's very open to nature-- Those looking for a swanky modern set up will be disappointed!
