Breakfast included. We built Shrenbute Cottage in the hamlet of Sumnam near Tandi first as a summer escape, now to share with kindred wanderers. A short walk reveals Keylong’s panorama, nearby trails and farms invite unhurried hikes and quiet wonder. Gaddi Tarils Eco Lodge (Entire Lodge)

A private bedroom in a mid-60s vintage Lodge built with just stone and wood, a work of enterprising Himalayan artistry. Previously occupied by the Forest Department, the cottage has now been restored as a homestay. The list of fruiting plants and vegetables grown here is endless. Around 80% of what you will eat here is locally sourced. The Lodge offers something that is all too quickly disappearing: peace, stillness, nature and an opportunity to disconnect with the outside world.

We are away from the buzz in Leh but still very close with 7km to Leh. We started building this house in 2019 with the idea to create a space which feels part of the land it is built on and in harmony with the ecosystem of Ladakh.
