The Bakoni Hide-Away is an off-the-grid retreat, ideal for a romantic getaway for lovers of the African bush. Unfenced, it is set on a remote spot on the side of a mountain with abundant birdlife, buck and other game around. The design was inspired by the many stone circles that occur in this region and the Bakoni people who are believed to have roamed the area in the past. It is ideal for couples and 2 older children can be accommodated on the mezzanine floor if privacy is not a requirement.

As a working farm, Terebinte - "the tree where friends and family gather" - welcomes you to enjoy the charm of country life. Please note, our property is located deep within the forest, requiring a 3km drive on a dirt road. While the road is generally well-maintained, heavy rain may occasionally make it a bit slippery or uneven. We navigate it in small cars too.

You can hear the birds chirping all day long and fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle. Try to spot the owls & bushbabys wich are often sitting in the jacaranda trees around you.

Self-contained accommodation for two in the bushveld with magnificent views and the sounds of nature. All of this is situated in agricultural lands, 15 minutes away from the centre of Nelspruit. The hosts have 4 large dogs that are well socialised and enjoy meeting new people. The property is a self-sustaining homestead where the hosts grow their own vegetables, farm honey and produce eggs.
