This tiny house awaits you at the end of a gravel road, on a half acre of open yard and sky. Watch birds fly over and listen to the ocean. You are 1.8 mi. by bike to the beach, 2 blocks to the banks of the Mad River, and Hammond Trail. Access your cozy sleeping loft up the ladder, cook in your well equipt kitchen, enjoy an on-demand shower inside, and a charming privy with a flush toilet outside. Perfect launchpad for any adventure! Halfway between Arcata and Trinidad, 3 miles from ACV Airport.

Blue Lake Sanctuary

Surrounded by pastures, it's a short walk to the Mad River for swims and walks. The Mad River Brewery is less than a mile up the road. Excellent mountain biking is 1 mile away. In a 15 minute drive you can find the hip town of Arcata, surrounded by redwoods and hiking as well as a majestic coastline. Sundays 10 am to noon we host a family friendly ecstatic dance in the studio adjacent to the apartment. Expect music at that time. Come join us! Public Yoga classes are Tuesday & Saturday am.

The Guest House

The oversized covered front porch provides a weather protected outside living room area, ideal for gathering with friends and to enjoy the ducks and chickens that amble the expansive country yard.

Or hop on the Highway 1/3 mile away. 3.5 miles to Airport, 30 to Redwood National & State Parks. We’ll share walls so you’ll sometimes hear me, though I try to be a considerate neighbor. Your comfort is very important to me!

Having lived on the North Coast for over 40 years we're a great resource to make your stay memorable.

Relax and rejuvenate in our cozy guest suite. The room boasts a large living area, comfortable furnishings and a calming atmosphere. With all the luxuries and privacy of a hotel suite, we also boast beautiful gardens and a waterfall cascading down into a koi pond to enjoy. The suite has a private entrance and is situated at the end of the a quiet street in a upscale, safe neighborhood. We are 5 minutes to shopping and dinning and another five to the fabulous Moonstone Beach.

Forest Grotto - Enjoy our Redwood Oasis

Welcome to our secluded grotto surrounded by Redwoods! This modern and quiet space will be a perfect respite for the many reasons you may be coming to Humboldt. Along with our local craftsman, we have created an oasis that will allow you to soak up the Redwoods, listen to the birds and watch the deer graze. Walking distance to the Majestic Arcata Community forest and Cal Poly Humboldt. As Arcata natives, we wanted to bring you a unique and unforgettable Humboldt experience.

Located in one of the earliest developments of McKinleyville. Our 710 sq. ft. attached guest house has a small fenced in yard and sits close enough to stroll down to view the ocean or take a 5 min. drive to enjoy the local Hammond hiking/bike trails, and nearby shops and restaurants. An easy trip from Arcata airport (ACV) or Hwy 101 and close access to the areas known beaches, redwood forests, lagoons and marshes to explore. Humboldt Cal Poly is located just 6 miles South.

The Surf Sanctuary retreat is minutes away from remote beaches and redwoods. Please note: Redwood Park is 30 minutes away, not 1 hour. The sanctuary is a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom guest house with a full kitchen and bathroom. We are located within a 5 minute drive to the beach, and 30 minutes away from Redwood State and National Parks. A cozy experience at this studio located just minutes from the heart of Arcata and the beautiful redwoods awaits you! There is one queen sized bed. This property is located in a friendly neighborhood, and it has an added convenience of being right near a grocery store. These conveniences may not always bring the quietest location, but you’ll feel like one of the locals. Amenities: Free parking, WiFi, a mini-kitchen.
