The river has heavy tidal flow (no river use from home). The Hoquiam River support runs of Chinook, chum, and coho salmon, steelhead, and sea-run trout. just a couple of miles upriver from Historic Downtown Hoquiam restaurants, stores and shops, 20 min to coast 45 min drive to Lake Quinault hiking trails South Shore Trailhead.

The inlet is a wildlife refuge to seals, eagles, otters, etc. All can be spotted in their natural habit while you sit on the deck with a 90 degree panoramic waterfront view.
