Bohemian Firehouse-an authentic 1916 Firehouse

The Bohemian Firehouse was the living quarters for the men stationed there when it was built in 1916. It sits above a retail space which housed the firetruck. The charming brick building is in near original condition, despite surviving a major flood and a derecho. You'll love the gorgeous woodwork, vintage tile and light fixtures. But you'll appreciate some modern touches like air conditioning, an updated kitchen and smart tv. Still, it's easy to imagine the stories these walls could tell.

It's a fully furnished 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment that was originally built as a caretaker's cottage. It is located behind my home, above my garage. Guests must be able to climb up 1 1/2 flights of stairs for access.

Just a quick mile (3 minutes) to the interstate makes this place close enough to be convenient and far enough to be quiet. Or, instead of hopping on the interstate, just continue on into the heart of downtown Cedar Rapids for business or pleasure. Luxurious 12 inch memory foam mattresses on each bed for exceptional rest. When you're awake, there's a Keurig and high speed internet (100 Mb).

There are 3 other units to choose from on the Airbnb site, all similar to this unit. Conveniently located near Czech Village, and New Bohemia. Close to many restaurants, Breweries, local shops and bars with live music venues. Steps away from bike/walking trail, and Mt Trashmore. 30 mins to Amana Colonies, 30 mins to Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.

Irish hill guests will have access to a .25 acre yard (unfenced). Only blocks away from uptown Marion!
