Our hotel’s place is near SENBON-MARUTAMACHI bus stop only 2 minutes walk from there. This is very useful bus stop, you can go directly to ARASHIYAMA , KINKAKUJI-TEMPLE,KIYOMIZU-TEMPLE, JR KYOTO STATION and so on. Our family founded Japanese rice shop in 1894 but I remodeled into hotel this spring. We are living long time here, and I want to keep my family’s business and hospitality mind for hotel work. Because the guest room is only 2, each room separate, so you can spend calmly and relax.

Higurashi-sou is a small guesthouse with 5 rooms only. This room is called 'Suisen' with unique Karakami paper doors with hand-drawn swirls and swimming frogs. (There are no bathrooms on the same floor. ) We can offer 'free bathhouse ticket', Enjoy our bathhouse culture with the locals! 10 minutes walk to Nijo castle. Why not try experiencing a bit of Kyoto life? Please note that we will charge a local accommodation tax (200 yen per person per night) in addition to the accommodation fee. The price is scheduled to increase from March 2026.

Umeya is a small machiya in the Nishijin area of Kyoto, renovated using traditional methods. You can reach famous places such as Kinkaku-ji, Kitano Tenmangu, the Imperial Palace, Nijo Castle, and Kamishichiken within a 15-minute bicycle ride. Note: The stairs to the second floor are quite steep. The toilet and shower room are shared and face the garden (available 24 hours a day).
