Castle Loft, Central Wallingford

Wallingford was once home to one of the strongest and most important castles in England. In 1067 William the Conqueror instructed the building of the castle on his way to London to take the throne. In 1502 Henry VIII inherited the castle. On 17 November 1652 Cromwell’s Council of State ordered its demolition, making way for this newly built loft apartment within the castle boundary. During the colder months enjoy a cold plunge, beneficial for body and mind. Ease your aches and muscles in the hot tub. Please note: you are using the pool and hot tub at your own risk, there is no life guard! Please watch children and non swimmers in the pool and hot tub at all times.

Red Kite Barn is situated in a lovely secluded valley (AONB), a 5 minute drive (25min walk) into Marlow, with its coffee shops, riverside walks and Michelin star dining. We are perfectly located for cycling or walking in the beautiful Chilterns and a short drive from Henley and Windsor. Heathrow is half an hour and fast trains go into London from Maidenhead. Red Kites, squirrels, foxes and deer are regular visitors to the garden.

The studio has been ventilated, cleaned and disinfected. All frequently touched areas have been disinfected also. All linens have been washed at a high temperature.
