Don't forget to go outside and look up at the stunning night sky, you'll see the milky way. 5 minutes drive from Takaka & central to everywhere in Golden Bay. Very comfortable and modern bathroom with underfloor heating. Private deck from bedroom with sea view. Full kitchen facilities. Smart TV with movies. Wonderful birdlife.

Beachfront escape

Located in a quiet rural setting along side the Kahurangi National Park, with beach access just over the road this is a great spot to base yourself for Golden Bay's adventures or relax with a book for a picnic on the beach. Its a short walk to the café and shops and all sorts of options around for activities including: kayaking, beach biking, a variety of hikes, fishing, swimming, caving and rock climbing. This unit is on the ground floor of our home. We live upstairs with our 2 children.

Everyone tells us they wished they stayed longer! Treat yourself to the peace and tranquillity of our place! The studio has everything you need for a relaxed stay. It's a large colourful room with a comfy Queen size bed. It is nestled in our large garden with just a short walk down to the beach which is great for walking , swimming or fishing! Golden Bay has so much to offer with beaches, bush-walks, cafes and lots of artisans and we are only a few minutes drive from the renowned Mussel Inn!

This well crafted stone cottage is close to beautiful Golden Bay bush walks, old historic gold workings, lonely beaches, the Mussel Inn, swimming holes and much more. A striking building nestled in a tranquil and private setting, makes for a relaxing stay that would suit couples and solo adventurers alike. Literally on Kahurangi National Park's doorstep! The host's partner has developed an extensive network of tracks , some easy walks and some more challenging, with great views of the bay.

Welcome to The Piggery, your home away from home. Nestled in the outstanding and unspoiled area of Onekakā, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the summer throngs. This little oasis provides you with everything you need to comfortably escape the routine, whether it's for the weekend or the week. Only minutes away from Onekakā beach and The Mussel Inn, bring your fishing rod and try catch some dinner from the beach or let The Mussel Inn take care of the meals and drinks.

Cosy, zen studio in the heart of Takaka village

Welcome to our garden property just 100m from the main Takaka shops. The studio is large and cosy with its own bathroom. You will enjoy privacy with your own deck but we are always around for a chat and love meeting new people. There are no cooking facilities (but we do have a fridge, kettle, toaster etc so you can enjoy your morning coffee and muesli etc). You are just two minutes stroll away from some truly great cafes and restaurants - The Wholemeal Cafe is our favourite, open 7 days.

Te Whare o Kea - A tiny house with a big heart!

Te Whare o Kea is a non profit social enterprise and supports kea and kiwi conservation work. Opening in 2020, Te Whare o Kea is a Gold Kea Sponsor, donating over $20,000 to the Kea Conservation Trust. It also supports the monitoring of kea nest sites in the Cobb Valley and maintains a 17 trap trapline and trail camera behind Te Whare.
