La casa fue construida en 1912 por D. Alejando Hidalgo y Romero, el cual hizo su fortuna en Cuba. El edificio es un excelente ejemplo del estilo Modernista o Art Nouveau de Las Palmas de principios del siglo XX. Nuestro abuelo adquirió el edificio en 1946, desde entonces ha sido la casa familiar- Hemos tratado de conservar la esencia y sabor de los viejos tiempos y combinarlo con las nuevas comodidades.
