Delightfully Cozy Historic Post Office/Guesthouse

Estelene was established in 1910 and served as a community center and post office for rural people of southwest Baca County until 1927. Estelene was named after Estelene Collins, the lady who operated the post office on the Collins Ranch where it was located. Estelene was also a teacher at the local schoolhouse for a time. The story goes that after she got older and unable to climb the hill to the original post office, she asked the community to build her a post office closer to the house.

This brick home was built in the 1950’s. It has been updated with ceramic tile, a shower in the bathtub, new carpet & laminate flooring in most of the house. The new air conditioning system and heater with added ceiling fans make for the ideal temperature for any visitor. The home is comfortable, inviting and peaceful.
