Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Kat’s Beach Shack at Shorewater Resort

Wrinkled sheets and sunrises no worries allowed here. This unit can easily accommodate up to four people comfortably. Balcony overlooks the ocean ,steps to the magic of the Sea. This is an upper unit that has perfect ocean views , The loft style unit has stairs and it’s on the second floor of the complex so doing stairs is a must . Within walking distance along Qualicum Beach waterfront and restaurants , town would be about a 20 minute walk or a five drive. With only a stones throw to the water

Nestled on the edge of the creek on our 10-acre farm is our quaint little 275sqft A-frame cabin. Watch the moon travel across the window from the queen size pillow top bed in the loft. On the main floor there is a pull-out couch for an added guest, a table for meals/games, a tiny kitchen with cold water only & a composting toilet. Outside is a lovely little patio and firebowl right on the creek bank. Watch the birds, deer and fish. We have cows, geese, bees and chickens you are welcome to meet.

Comfortably sleeps 5, can sleep up to 8-9 adults with extra fees for bunkhouse use and extra cleaning fee. Family-friendly beachside vacation home. Fully equiped (kitchen, laundry, smart TV's and wifi and AC) but with bbq, outdoor dining, fire pit, all oceanside with use of paddleboards and Kayaks. A lawned area for children and pet (with approval). Close to dining and main beach. A great homebase for discovering beautiful Vancouver Island! Ideal for famlies, not suited for stags/stagettes.
