Eclectic room & shared common areas with big fireplace patio. Make yourself at home...do your thing or meet/eat with other Guests in relaxed 'hostel' atmosphere. Host occupies an adjoining studio apartment. Guest commons are cleaned daily. Decor & furnishings are guest-focused, planned entirely for you! Driveway parks 3-4 cars + easy street parking. Neighborhood abuts 2 parks - 2 min walk to a Rec Center (weightroom $2 Mon-Fri) & 10 min drive to Downtown or UofA, & Tucson Bikepath runs right by!

This is the Painted Desert Room. The whimsical decor can't decide if it's a tribute to Arizona's Painted Desert or perhaps just one of Arizona's resident painters! A comfortable double bed sleeps two, layer-cake dresser and closet space, a creatively colorful desk, and a key to lock your door. The rest of the house is yours to use too, of course. Think of the rest of the house and garden as a casual and friendly hostel! You can cook in the well-equipped kitchen, have a drink on the porch in the still-developing garden yard, listen to local radio on a vintage KLH tabletop set by the dining table or watch some TV or Netflix on the living-room TV. Peruse our shared library of local travel literature or study the local maps on the walls throughout the whole visitor-oriented house. On a cold evening feel free to stoke a fire in the vintage avocado-green Malm freestanding fireplace out back, surrounded by strings of warm porch lights - or maybe share a meal or a chat with a fellow Guest!

Our neighborhood directly adjoins two large parks that are great for walking or biking: The Golf Links Sports Complex features playing fields and a section of the Tucson Metro Bike Loop, while Freedom Park to the west hosts a newer Parks & Recreation Center (3 min walk) where weight-room access is only $2 per use Mon-Fri. The local public library is within a 1.5 mile radius, as are plenty of shopping and restaurant options.

I welcome visitors from everywhere, and it’s my hope to make your stay a delight and perhaps even a surprise! I have fond memories of my own stays at Airbnb spots, and the wonderful Youth Hostels where I found new acquaintances during my travels over the years. Travel can be solitary, or an adventure, enriched by the people we meet.

The house may or may not have other Guests during your stay (I offer three rooms in all), but you're likely to meet me at some point. I live in an adjoining studio just off the main foyer. Either myself, my partner, or occasionally an assistant of mine will check various aspects of the house daily to see that you have everything you need or might want. If we can help make your stay more comfortable in any way, just ask!
