Originally climbed by Matthew Flinders when charting the North coast of Kangaroo Island, it’s the tallest point on the island affording views in all directions. Only a 10 minute drive from Saltiere, it’s recently been reopened after a complete rebuild of the 500 steps to the top.

This is a secret beach- arrive to find a rather dull looking craggy rock cove, but follow the path to the right of the cove through the rocks and you’ll find a beautiful enclosed bay with an enormous waist deep rock pool, and a surf break further along. The caravan park is a great spot for lunch- enjoy a glass of wine at the picnic tables with your fish and chips

The cellar door for Dudley Wines is a local favorite and a great lunch or nibbles spot with a glass of Dudley Wines’ finest. Absolutely spectacular views toward the mainland out to sea. The whiting pizza is particularly good, but their specialty cheese platters are also excellent. Book ahead if you’re going on a Saturday or Sunday as it’s very popular. It’s approximately a 20 minute drive from Island Beach.
