Tasmania has some superb food and wine and some excellent restaurants :Your best bet to read all that Hobart has to offer is to search the web for Yippie Pie Yay, a good blog by a local chef, Carl Wise. He knows about places before they even open, seriously?
This selection is the finest in my humble opinion that the city has to offer right now. Always look at the restaurant’s Facebook page to ensure that they are open and bookings are usually required.
Rodney and Severine are lovely people and quite simply put Tasmania on the map with their cooking school 10 or more years ago: they opened this about 3 years ago;
Local produce superbly well cooked.Booking vital.

Honestly? Used to be good but has gone rapidly downhill recently ( as of March 2020) I’m asked about it since it is local but cannot recommend as I have not been there for some time.check out their website for menu, local option just down the road. Must book often very busy.

Lovely place to go for fine dining on a tranquil bay, or a good pub meal in the bar. In my honest opinion it has slipped a bit over the past few years but still nice for a coffee in beautiful surroundings on the water.
