Point Arena Lighthouse offers dramatic views and has the original 1908 1st Order Fresnel lens still available for viewing in their indoor museum. Unfortunately the main tower tours are suspended due to COVID. Social distance practices cannot be met in the confined staircase and top tower. But the grounds are stunning and the history of the lighthouses that have perched on that point is fascinating!

Our favorite place to hike! We see many otters, whales, seals, and sea life here every time we go. And the lighthouse is gorgeous. Park anywhere along the road and just walk toward the lighthouse.

You can walk the stairs to the top of the old lighthouse with great coastal views. During whale migrations you can look for whales. $7 fee for adults. $3-5 for kids? Full moon admissions.
