Scenic Mountain Home

With gorgeous views of Lake Biwa east, forests and mountains nearby, we are surrounded by nature. Biwako Valley ski & scenic resort is nearby; Kyoto is just 35 minutes away by local train. Hiking trails are nearby, Lake Biwa 1 km away. Guests are welcome to interact with us, and our dogs, upstairs. If coming by train, inquire about us picking you up at Horai station before reserving. This is a residential neighborhood but we arrange rides down and up. Due to regulations, we can't serve dinner.

Hana House is a traditional house built about 100 years ago >> limited to one group per day (1-4 people). Hana house is located within 5 min walk of Katsura station on Hankyu line. 　You takes less 7 min from Katsura station to Arashiyama(嵐山) ,takes only 15 min to Gion and 20 min to JR Kyoto station.The moss temple “Saihoji” is at the next station.The region is located in one of the most culturally important areas of the country.The Katsura Imperial Villa is located a 15-minute walk away.

Machiya Guesthouse KIOTO annex twin room 2F[Kaede]

Guesthouse KIOTO is using an old town house (Machiya) about 100 years old. Here is located in a local area, about 30 minutes by city bus from Kyoto station. There are many restaurants, supermarkets and convenience stores near the guest house. We have prepared a handmade map of the neighborhood to introduce you to our recommendations. You can go to Kinkakuji by bicycle. There is a public bath of tangible cultural property called Funaoka Onsen where you can go on foot for 15 minutes.

Being here is like being in your country house that you can use almost all to yourself (house owners, a family with kids are living on site).
