We remind guests that hippos live in the area and come out of the lakes to graze. We therefore recommend that there be no wandering outside of the gates at night. This is a low risk malaria area.

Kosi Bay forms part of the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, a World Heritage Site and is made up of four interconnected lakes that drain into the Indian Ocean. The area is remote, in far north rural KwaZulu Natal (12km from the Mozambican border), and remains largely untouched with bird and fish species in abundance and hippos and crocs still found in the lakes. Lunamanzi Lodge is a fully-furnished, self-catering cottage a short walk near the Kosi Lake so pop in for a morning swim.
