'Hyun', meaning snow in Garhwali, is our Himalayan abode nestled in a quiet, charming village, where it sits within a small cluster of villas, hotels, and cafés. It overlooks apple orchards and snow peaks, and offers modern comforts along with space for rest, reflection, or remote work. Beautiful hiking trails nearby lead to majestic Himalayan views. We have a warm and dependable caretaker-cum-cook and a helpful assistant, both are like family to us and make sure every guest feels at home.

Lal Kothi is chef Sameer Sewak & his family's home in countryside Dehradun. It is surrounded table top views of Mussoorie hills, Tons river, Sal forests. Guests get the 2nd floor with a private access. The space includes 2 bedrooms, a kitchen/lounge, 2 terraces & balconies. Included in your stay is a complimentary breakfast. Guests get to order vegetarian & non-vegetarian delicacies for lunch & dinner from the dehradun famous Awadhi cuisine menu designed by Chef Sameer & his mother Swapna.

Luxury Earth Home in the offbeat Himalayas

The last 7 years have been an incredible learning experience. Since we moved to the village, the priorities have changed. There was a sense of discovery in everything we did. There were chai-filled conversations with elders and young turks and stories on how homes and communities were built. It's these learnings that led us to build these earth homes. Kumaon has been a great teacher. And we hope we've done justice to her sustainable ways.

Secluded from the touristic part of Kausani, our cabin is in the middle of the sprawling tea estate. With a private road that leads straight to the tea gardens, the cabin sits a little down the ridge and offers one of the best views of the Himalayas in the village. With no houses in its vicinity apart from the caretaker's, the cabin gives you a much-needed dose of pristine nature.
