Lula and Bill dedicated their lives to caring for others, serving the Emmetsburg school district for over 26 years. Their kindness and small-town spirit inspired the way this home has been lovingly restored. The home has two connected wings: Lula's side features floral vintage charm, while Bill's side shows his calm, rustic style. Together, they blend nostalgia and comfort.

Headwaters Hideaway

Headwaters Hideaway is the perfect place for you to unwind for a quick getaway, a week long stay, or an extended stay. Our cabin sits at the edge of our seasonal site campground on the shores of Crystal Lake (264 acres). Public access is within walking distance if you choose to enjoy boating or fishing on your stay. We also have 2 kayaks available. The kids will stay entertained with a playground and basketball hoops just across the campground access road.

I welcome guests to a safe quiet neighborhood. This is a cape cod style home with Bedroom 1 on main level and Bedroom 2 on second floor. Please note, there is no bathroom on the second floor. The kitchen, dining area, full bath and comfortable living room are also on main level. The laundry and additional 3/4 bath are located in basement.

Relax with the family at this peaceful place to stay or come for some of the great hunting and fishing! This tiny cabin has Wi-Fi, Hulu, mini fridge, AC, heat, coffee maker, microwave and more! Charcoal grill, fire pit, and port a pot. There is a patio area as well. No running water. Coming Spring of 2026!!!!! Outdoor shower and bathroom!!
