The Mews is a beautifully converted barn, once part of a larger farm, it is now one of a small complex of buildings , surrounded by farmland and overlooking the hills and valleys of the NW Lakes. The location is perfect for walking , cycling, running, open water swimming etc... or for those who like to take things a little easier it is perfect for day trips into the lakes and toward the lesser know scenic west coast .

Bright and cheerful ensuite studio flat on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Great views of Helvellyn and High Street. Lake District hikes, cycling or sightseeing within a few minutes. There is a small well equipped kitchen with hob, fridge and microwave for preparing light meals. The local pub is a 10 minute walk and serves excellent food with other good food pubs just down the road. Guests are welcome to share use of our BBQ corner with fabulous view of the mountains.

Welcome to Highside a delightful cottage set in a secluded location overlooking the tranquil village of Lorton. Dating back to 1695 (as engraved on the fireplace in the kitchen), the cottage retains many original features but has been sympathetically modernised. The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

Our cosy, open plan ‘studio’ style accommodation for 2 is in the beautiful Lake District National Park, overlooking the fields & fells and 10 miles from the Solway coast, beaches & harbours. Granted UNESCO World Heritage Status in 2017, this area makes an ideal base for touring NW Cumbria, cycling, hiking fells & round lakes, climbing, canoeing, an en-route stopover for the Coast to Coast Cycle Route or a peaceful, romantic location for a countryside retreat.

Toddell Barn

Toddell Barn forms part of our traditional Lakeland longhouse farm, built in approximately 1710. Toddell Barn sits within approximately 7 acres of agricultural land that helps attract a wide variety of wildlife. Toddell Barn is located in the hamlet of Brandlingill (2 miles south of Cockermouth) and is within the northern boundary of The Lake District National Park, categorised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017.
