The Dome

Welcome to The Dome; a unique, rustic, lakeside property. Located on Macpherson Lake, Guysborough Co, The Dome offers the perfect setting to create lasting memories. Enjoy swimming and fishing off our private dock or take the paddleboat, paddle board, and kayaks out for a cruise. Soak in the sunshine on our large patio while sipping on a cold one. At night, stargaze while sitting around our wood and propane fire pits. If the ocean is more your style, a provincial beach is only 5 minutes away.

My Vacation Home is a Dome

Discover the tranquil allure of our romantic retreat, nestled in nature's embrace. Let the soothing rhythm of waves caressing the shore serenade your senses, while the starlit sky unfolds its mesmerizing spectacle above. Relax in your cozy dome, offering panoramic views of the boundless ocean, expansive sky, and untouched wilderness. For 2026 we have added a beautiful new Sauna. Our new Sauna offers a peaceful wellness experience designed to complement the natural beauty of our site.

The Phoenix Dome at Cabot Shores

This 16-foot dome sits on a raised platform in a secluded wooded area, overlooking the highlands. It has a double bed and chairs to enjoy the bay window view and stargaze at night. There's a woodstove that needs to be kept going all night in winter. A hammock and picnic table are beside the dome. It’s pet-friendly, and you can bring your furry friend for $15/night per pet. Hot tub access is a few minutes' walk from the dome, and near the main lodge. A battery-powered lantern is provided.

The Apple Dome at Cabot Shores

This geodesic dome sits on a treehouse platform in our apple orchard. It has a double bed, and half the roof is a skylight for stargazing from bed! The Apple Dome is connected to the Luna Dome by stairs. From the deck, you can see Church Pond, the Atlantic Ocean, and mountains. On the lower deck, there is a picnic table, and a hot tub is available in summer. The bathroom/shower is a short walk away in the Main Lodge, and there’s an outhouse close by. A battery-powered lantern is provided

The Blue Heron Dome at Cabot Shores

This 16-foot diameter dome sits on a treehouse platform in the apple orchard. It has a double bed, and chairs to sit and look out of the bay window. Half the roof is a skylight; a perfect way to stargaze at night. Underneath is a big deck with a picnic table and fire pit. The bathroom is a short walk away; there is also an outhouse a few steps from the dome. On the lower deck, there is a picnic table, and a hot tub is available only in summer. A battery powered lantern is provided.

The Raven Dome at Cabot Shores

The Raven Dome sits on an upper deck with views of the Atlantic and Cape Breton Highlands. Inside is a queen bed offering ocean and stargazing views. Perfect for a couple's getaway, it has a woodstove for winter. A basic outdoor shower, washroom, and a modern outhouse are nearby. The lower deck has a picnic table, and a hot tub is available in summer. In winter, the hot tub is near the main lodge. Pets are welcome for $15/night per pet, and a battery-powered lantern is provided.

The Beaver Dome at Cabot Shores

This 16-foot diameter dome sits on a raised wooden platform in a secluded wooden area, overlooking Church Pond and the Atlantic Ocean. It has a double bed, and chairs to sit and look out of the bay window. Half of the roof is a skylight, so you can stargaze from bed! There's no electricity or source of heat, but battery powered lanterns are provided. There is an outhouse a one minute walk from the dome, and bathroom with shower located five minutes away in our Main Lodge.

The Eagle Dome at Cabot Shores

The Eagle Dome is great for those who likes camping without having to bring all the gear. It's located on a high platform in the apple orchard, has a double bed inside and a picnic table and fire pit close by. The bathroom is a short walk away; there is also an outhouse a few steps away. This Dome is off-grid as there's no electricity or source of heat. Hot tub available to rent for additional fee (must reserve 24 hours in advance). Our domes are not pet-friendly.

Dome 1 - Rising Tide - Northeast Cove

DOME 1 - RISING TIDE Bright and spacious with panoramic windows and a skylight, our geodesic domes offer stunning harbour and mountain views. Inside: queen bed, seating area, dining table, private bath, and kitchenette with drip coffee maker, induction cooktop, mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, and kettle. Enjoy free coffee, creamers, and local touches. Guests love kayaking the harbour or biking the Celtic Coastal Trails right from here.

STARLIGHT Bright and spacious with panoramic windows and a skylight, our geodesic domes offer stunning harbour and mountain views. Inside: queen bed, seating area, dining table, private bath, and kitchenette with drip coffee maker, induction cooktop, mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, and kettle. Enjoy free coffee, creamers, and local touches. Guests love kayaking the harbour or biking the Celtic Coastal Trails right from here.
