Cozy City Treehouse Retreat

The ReImaginator is called after a machine in my first children's book that restored stolen imaginations because building this space was the first step Robbie and I took in following our own dreams - we hope it inspires you to do the same. The treehouse is at the bottom of a forest like garden right in the heart of Kilkenny, just 10 minutes walk from the town centre. A true rural retreat in an urban setting. This warm & cosy space is surrounded by bird song - a perfect place to get inspired.

The Swallow's Nest

Please don't come here - If you're looking for big city lights, mod cons & public transport. Please do come here - If you're interested in growing your own food, keeping bees, hiking, food preservation, nature, chickens & geese, bats, birdsong & silence (hens/geese/wildlife permitting!). The Swallow's Nest is a tiny barn which sits between Slievenamon & the Comeragh mountains, in the glorious valley known as The Honeylands but is only a ten minute drive from Clonmel, Tipperary's County town.

Cosy Loft in the Trees

This is a gorgeous little hut built in the top corner of a hay barn, but has the feeling of a comfortable treehouse. It is located in a peaceful rural setting overlooking a field. It is quite near other buildings in which we live, but it is totally private. Access requires climbing two short flights of sturdy steps which bring you on to its balcony Kilkenny city is a handy 20 minute drive away, but a car is needed as there is no public transport. A perfect place to retreat to.

Set within the Croc An Oir Estate (translated as Crock of Gold) and tucked away down a leafy boreen, this beautifully restored, converted stone barn offers a truly relaxing holiday where hospitality and a traditional Irish experience is offered in abundance. Wren's Nest is a unique off grid retreat nestled among the trees at the back of our wild cottage garden. It is the ideal place to relax with a book and enjoy the many small birds and wild plants that share the space. It is a great base for walkers and cyclists to explore the surrounding pretty villages and beyond. What better way to spend an evening than to cook in the out door kitchen and dine under the stars.

The Roundwood Cottages, The Writer's Cottage and The Forge, are located on the grounds of Roundwood House, a beautiful and historically significant 18th century Irish Country House. They are a perfect haven, whether you come to explore the Irish midlands or just to wind down a little. Each sleeps two people.
