The Laneway House is a compact, modern dwelling in Vancouver, with a love for simplicity and authenticity, particularly inspired by Japanese culture. The exterior features "yakisugi" (焼杉), an ancient wood preservation technique, and pine board-lined windows. The house's design draws from the Vancouver Specials typology prevalent in the area. Gough Creek Cabin is a timber frame, studio cabin that is nestled in the old-growth rainforests of xwesam (Roberts Creek) on BC's Sunshine Coast. The cabin overlooks a beautiful mossy creek and is located at the gateway to world-class mountain biking, hiking and many villages, cafes and breweries. We are located 20 minutes from Langdale Ferry Terminal, 15 minutes from both Sechelt and Gibsons, and 5 minutes from the lovely Roberts Creek village.

We have updated The Hideout and look forward to welcoming the world back at the end of summer 2025!! The Hideout grew from a vision we had when we moved to the Coast in 2020. With the desire to share our dream of living amongst the trees, tucked away from the world, The Hideout was created. Wrapped in hand milled cedar, fir and hemlock this space was designed to remind us to slow down, breathe deep and take it all in.
