We have the best of both worlds, stunning countryside & easy access to local amenities. We’re on Domen Fawr which is over 1653ft high. At the top you can see Pen y Fan & central Brecons. Heads of the Valley is nearby & provides great access across South Wales. Cardiff is an hour away by train. We are a quiet retreat, ideal for walkers, young families or couples wanting a relaxing, peaceful break. Pets are welcome but there are additional charges. Please ask us in advance as we have our own dogs.

Enjoy a stay at our lovely modern and quirky terrace house in the Welsh Valleys. The house is in a central location for outdoor adventure lovers with plenty of hiking spots and mountain bike trails a short distance away. History buffs will find numerous interesting sites to visit nearby. If you are looking for some where peaceful to work there is a dedicated office space and wifi. The train station is a 4 minute drive up the road for an easy commute into Newport or Cardiff. Amenities nearby.

James' Place Dowlais Self Catering Studio 1 Butty

James' Place@Dowlais offers 7 individually and creatively styled self-catering studios. They are ideally placed for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park, visiting Bike Park Wales, Zip World South or working away from home. We are dog friendly and there is a £20 charge per dog per stay. In addition we are happy for bikes to be stored in the main hall under the stairs if you bring chain and padlock or taken into your studio providing they are clean.

Cascade House stands in approximately 1.5 acres of mature gardens with extensive parking. The house is located down a 0.2 miles farm lane. We have plenty of secure storage for bicycles. Ample parking available in a gated and secure area.

The Stable Loft is set in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park between Merthyr Tydfil and Brecon. The property is on the Taff Trail Walking and Cycling route, close to Pen y Fan, The Brecon Mountain Railway and Bike Park Wales. The property sleeps two in the Kingsize bedroom. The Lounge area has a work burner and comfy sofas to curl up on. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas cooker, microwave oven and dishwasher.
