The role of nature in the sustainability of wine production has always been respected at the farm. Breeding of a small flock of ducks started in the late 1980's as a form of natural pest control in the vegetable gardens. Today, a 1000-strong flock of Indian Runner Ducks keeps the vineyards free of snails and pests. The Parade of Ducks (walking to and from the vineyards) has become a major public attraction at Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate.
