Favorite mountain bike trails
There are a lot of great mtn. trails but our favorite is:
* Kokopelli Section--including Mary's Loop and Steve's Loop. Rustlers has something for everyone. This area is popular with trail runners and mtn. bikers.

Kokopelli Trail Start

Favorite Road Bike Route
1) Ride the Colorado National Monument. Start from the cottage . Spectacular hill climb and views and very little traffic. There is a fee to enter for the National Park Service.
2) Ride the Riverfront Trail to downtown Grand Junction, have lunch and return. Easy, flat. Great views of Colo. Natl. Monument. About 25 mile round trip.
3) Ride to Highline Lake State Park, easy flat ride in the Fruita countryside. Fee to enter this Colorado State Park.
Secret Gem in the Park Service. Ride or Drive. The Rim Rock Drive is 23 miles from West to East Entrance (or vice versa). You can loop it, go gate to gate or head into Grand Junction from the East Entrance.

McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area
Dog friendly hiking trails spread out from this trailhead, with established, maintained parking lot with vault toilet.

Head to Flume for a hike along a gulch or head up to Pollock for stunning rugged sandstone canyons. Desert country...bring plenty of water.

Short, self-guided hike with interpretive signs. If you have kids interested in dinosaurs, this is the place. Then hit the Dinosaur Museum of Western Colorado to learn more and cool off!

For an all day hike, start at the Pollock Trailhead. Enjoy the second largest concentration of natural arches in the US and possible the world. This is a long hike, no water, few people, incredible sandstone canyons, lots of cliff-side exposure, trail can be hard to follow in places. This is definitely for the adventurous, experienced hiker.
You can also access this area from a rough 4wd road (Black Ridge Road) outside the Colo. National Monument open seasonally.
