Charles Bridge is a medieval stone arch bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the early 15th century. It is build of sandstone blocks. From 1683 to 1923, 30 statues of saints were carved to decorate the bridge. The most famous statue is the statue of St John of Nepomuk. Search online the short movie made based of the Jan Nepomucky legend . The bridge is 515,76 m long.

When the clock strikes the hour (from 9am to 11pm), the procession of twelve Apostles sets in motion. It is a must see! This medieval astronomical clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest clock still operating.
