The Peristeria Mycaenian Tomb is 4km from the main road in Kalo Nero and next to the village of Myro (easily accessible) (closed on Mondays) you can discover a small archeological place with three Mycenaean tombs built about 1800 BC.
One of them is in perfect condition and has positive energy with special acoustics. (Only need 1 euro and 30 min to visit it)
The area is wonderful to make a beautiful forest walk of about 40 minutes. The walk starts right next to the gate.
There is little river with a small waterfall at the end of the walk.

Zaharo has absolutely the most beautifull sandy beach in the area. It maight be a bit busy but don't worry, you always find a nice spot. A few beach restaurants offer good quality food and there is lots of parking space. The water is not very deep close to the beach.

Just north of Pylos and Gialova on the Bay of Navarino there is a side road in the direction of the sea that leads to a fantastic sandy beach with shallow water.
Behind the dunes lies the freshwater lagoon of Gialova. Take food and drink with you, because there are few facilities. Cold drinks are offered on the hot summer days. You can park next to the road. The beach is nice for swimming with a beautiful view in this bay. The water is not very deep and is therefore safe for young children. If you swim further in the water you can see a number of fish and snails.

To Petrino Balkoni, the last restaurant in a row next to the seaside, is our absolute favourite reataurant. Not for every day, but once or twice whan we are there we go and have the best local food for a decent price.
In Kalo Nero is a very beautifull open private swimming pool. Beautifull people, modern music and a wonderfull and clean swimming pool makes our children go crazy every time we go there. They do serve food, drinks and milk shake mmmmm.

To Petrino Balkoni, the last restaurant in a row next to the seaside, is our absolute favourite reataurant. Not for every day, but once or twice whan we are there we go and have the best local food for a decent price.
In Kalo Nero is a very beautifull open private swimming pool. Beautifull people, modern music and a wonderfull and clean swimming pool makes our children go crazy every time we go there. They do serve food, drinks and milk shake mmmmm.

You just need to try some Greek words to explain what You need and if You are lucky they will find someone in the restaurant that speaks English. My favorite is a large pita pie, called a skepasti. It is so large (and a bit heavy on the stomage) we eat just one with 3-4 people. Call number +30 2625061367.
