David the owner is from Florence Italy and is such a friendly, warm welcoming guy!
He was so nice enough to accommodate and cooked up some lunch for my mom and I when we showed up and the restaurant was closed.💚🌴

Grocery Stores
There are 2 main supermarkets in Sosua. 1- Playero (This is a one -stop shop with bank /ATM machine, pharmacy and alcohol). 2- Super Pola (also sells alcohol has bank/ATM and pharmacy outside )

Local Currency
Local currency is Dominican Peso- USD is accepted, safe place for money exchange is-1. Caribe Express or 2. ATM at Playero supermarket you can take local currency out from your credit card/debit card - DO NOT change money at the airport !

Taxi or Car Rental
It is Best to rent a car as it’s much cheaper than taxis. When driving here - be patient and drive defensively with all eyes behind, front and sides! Always pay attention -watch for motorbikes going around you on both sides, watch for pot holes, huge speed bumps, cows and dogs-other then that it’s safe. There are lots of Taxis available if you are not comfortable driving, This is a small seaside beach town so no Uber here in Sosua yet. Taxis one way from airport to Sosua can run anywhere from $25 to $30 usd. A 5-10min trip from beach to store to villa is about $10 usd one way.
