Found in Spinola Bay, the LOVE monument by renowned Maltese architect Richard England. You'll quickly notice that the word is inverted but when the waters are still, you can see it spelled out in the reflection underneath.

The 'Triton Fountain' is located just outside the city gate of the capital Valletta which consists of three large bronze tritons holding up a large basin and is one of Malta's most important Modernist landmarks. Works in this Pjazza had started early in 2017 and the 'Triton Fountain' had been restored to its former glory. Definitely worth to visit this spot and grab an ice-cream from one of the stalls surrounding the Pjazza.

In Malta the square is known as ‘il-Fosos’ which roughly translates into the somewhat undignified ‘the pits’. The British gave it the more respectable name of The Granaries. And as granaries this space has actually served for hundreds of years. The storage of cereals underground dates back from time immemorial and in Malta this was a practice of the Bronze Age people who settled the Islands after the collapse of the Temples civilization. Shallow grain silos are in fact one of the giveaway signs that an area was inhabited in those far away times. The Granaries have also become the venue for the Islands’ largest free musical event, the annual Isle of MTV Concert, and past editions have seen artistes of the calibre of Lady Gaga gracing the stage.

Planted by the Knights of St. John as a hunting reserve, the lush Buskett Gardens make up one of few woodland areas in Malta, popular for picnics and leisurely walks. On the edge of the gardens stands the 16th century Verdala Palace, which is now the summer residence of the President of Malta. The gardens have been identified as an Important Bird Area (IBA) by BirdLife International because they support large numbers of bird species , especially as a sanctuary to those on seasonal migration through the Maltese Archipelago.

The design of the present church is based on the Pantheon in Rome, has the third largest unsupported dome in the world and is Malta's largest and most famous church. The church narrowly avoided destruction during World War II when on 9 April 1942 a German aerial bomb pierced the dome and fell into the church during Mass, but failed to explode. This event was interpreted by the Maltese as a miracle.
