Bacolod City "The City of Smiles"
Bacolod, officially known as the City of Bacolod, is a first class highly urbanized city in the region of Western Visayas, Philippines. It is the capital of the province of Negros Occidental with a total of 600,783 inhabitants as of the 2020 census, it is the most populous city in Western Visayas, and the second most populous city in the entire Visayas after Cebu City. It is the center of the Bacolod metropolitan area, which also includes the cities of Silay and Talisay, with a total population of 791,019 inhabitants.
It is notable for its MassKara Festival held during the third week of October, and is known for being a relatively friendly city, as it bears the nickname "The City of Smiles". It is known as the City of Smiles because of its MassKara Festival, a Mardi Gras-like festival and a spectacularly vivid mix of dance, color and music.
During Masskara, thousands of people from all over the country and the world, flock to Bacolod and enjoy the most anticipated parade on the street, with people dancing with a their colorful masks and costume with smiling face. This event is truly spectacular, and a time to just have fun, and put a "Huge smile on your face".
The city is also famous for its local delicacies; piaya, cansi, and chicken inasal.
As Bacolenos are known for this pharase let me say this "KARI SA BACOLOD, DALA KA MASKARA!" (Come to Bacolod, bring a mask!)

Campuestohan Highland Resort is a place to enjoy loads of fun with your family and friends. The scenery is breathtaking, surrounded by mountains. There are plenty of swimming pools you can to choose from, and playgrounds. Their is also a restaurant, and Theme park hotel for overnight stay. If you are someone who likes adventures, there is horseback riding, ziplining, sky bicycle, etc.

Known variously as the "Taj Mahal of Talisay", "Taj Mahal of Negros" and "Taj Mahal of the Philippines", it is in the private ownership of the great-grandchildren of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and Cora Maria Osorio Rosa-Braga. They have preserved it in its ruined state, among operational farmland, as a tourist attraction that can be visited for a fee or hired for events.
This is a must see place when you are visiting Bacolod. I've been here many times, and still want to come back again.
