Fantastic Cuban food, open 24 hours. In my humble opinion, the only protein you want to eat at a Cuban restaurant is pork or steak, pork being the best. The rice is unreal, with back beans and plantains. I love their breakfast sandwiches. Made to order, I just ask for egg, cheese and bacon, toasted well. Great coffee! Beware, it comes with sugar unless you tell them not to put it in. Colada is expresso with sugar (tiny serving but jet fuel) and cafe con leche is expresso with milk and sugar.

Sports bar with to die for baby back ribs with meat falling off the bone. Also excellent are their mahi mahi, which is fresh daily, and their burgers are big and yummy. Great fries. This restaurant is a 3 minute drive from the house.

Palm Beach is full of good restaurants. This one is very good. Fresh fish, hearty steaks, impeccable service. Very pricey but so nice.

In the Brazilian Court Hotel, this is my very favorite restaurant in south Florida. It's very expensive but worth it. The brunch is reasonable and a delight. The service is perfect. Seating is indoor and outdoor. I always sit outdoors. I have been thanked several times for taking friends there, even when they were paying!

This is Latin flavored "fast-food" chicken and pork place has been a hit with guests. They cook the chicken on huge grills and it's lightly but deliciously seasoned (I think with lemon and garlic). There are 3 locations closer to Chez Holly that are not showing up on the map, so I recommend that when you're ready for some chicken or pork, rice & beans, or combo salad, you just google the locations. They usually have a drive-thru but if you haven't tried them before, you should go inside. They have a sauce & salsa bar that is very good (I particularly like the garlic cilantro dressing & curry mustard).

In season, there are concerts on the weekends. Other good restaurants include City Cellar Wine & Bar (takes reservations), Brio (takes reservations), Ruth Chris Steakhouse, Panera Bread (inexpensive), Saito's Japanese steakhouse, Mello Mushroom - the list is endless. There's also a great movie theatre, Muvico (with Imax). Google CityPlace, West Palm Beach and you will find a more complete list of what it has to offer.

Lake Worth has a lovely beach with a good restaurant (Benny's on the Beach) on the pier over the water (a must do). Lake Worth is more folksy than City Place. Both venues have great ice cream places.
Before City Place, Clematis Street was the downtown scene. City Place is on Rosemary Street, which runs north/south; Clematis Street runs east/west and ends at the water on Flagler street where there are piers you can walk out on. At the end of Clematis is E.R. Bradley's Saloon, a good restaurant and bar. But there are plenty of good restaurants from the intersection of Clematis and Rosemary down all the way to the water. Clematis street has more late night clubs.

It's a great couple of hours to see a few famous painting, a sculpture garden, and have lunch. They always have one traveling exhibit.

There are multiple venues within the center, but the main stage has big productions like traveling Broadway shows. I like the Kravis a lot because it's not too big and the acoustics are good (unlike the Broward Center for the Performing Arts). You can pre-order and pre-pay for a drink that will be ready for you on intermission. Now that's civilized.

It's a bit of a trek, but there is no coastal town that is closer. It is well worth the drive. There are always coupons on line. Plan at least four hours. You will get up close and personal with wild animals which you will view from your car, and you can feed the giraffes.
