It has a lovely garden where you can take coffee and your cake. The kagebord is legendary. One price gets you all the cakes you can eat. A special place. Especially if you have a sweet tooth. A nice place to take the kids.

When you want something easy, inexpensive but tasty good. They also run a restaurant by the harbour called Restaurant B.
Good quality fish from this hole in the wall chip shop in Svaneke. The owner is a fisherman so the fish is as fresh as it gets. Crisp battered nuggets of fish. and a side of fries for about 80kr. Seats outside, but I like to sit on the rocks, mermaid-style. Go to the left-hand end of the harbour by the viking ship. It’s 20m further up towards the car park.

A local butcher with a big reputation supplying meat to some of the best restaurants in DK. It’s a farm, the cows and sheep roam freely and lead a happy life. They are butchered humanly on site. There is a café as well serving beer, coffee, and their famous hotdogs. Kids love them. Definitely have one of those. There’s a lovely garden on the farm.

In Tejn. A great little bakery run by two young brothers. Sourdough bread, tarts, rolls, but the ones to go for are the almond croissants. Unbelievably delicious.

All things goat. On a farm in Østerlars. Different types of goats cheese, cream, but come for the icecream. Incredibly creamy and flavourful but with less cholesterol than cow’s milk. So delicious. You must try it.

Svaneke
A lovely walk in one of the well known nature attractions on the island and only 5 minutes drive from the house. The cliffs at Randkløve Skår were shaped by the movements of ice thousands of years ago and today they provide a dramatic view to the Baltic Sea. A beautiful nature forest surrounds Randkløve Skår with wild cherry trees, ash, and oak. There is also heather and junipers in the cliffs. If you visit the area in spring, you will find a beautiful forest floor covered in beautiful blue, yellow and white anemones. You can follow the country lane from the parking lot at St. Ols institution for a walk along the coast. If you are walking from the direction of Bølshavn the path will lead you through a gorge to Almehullet and a miniature of Randkløve Skår called ‘Krukkerenden’. The terrain can be difficult, but it is worth the trouble. Make sure you're wearing comfortable walking shoes.
Park your car at the parking lot next to St. Ols institution, Randkløvevej 26. Follow the country lane till you reach a row of trees. Turn left and walk down the country lane with the row of trees on your right side. Approximately 500 m down the lane you will find Randkløve Skår.

Walking to the right side of the metal bridge / walkway and climb up the rope then follow the path over the bridge towards the village. There’s also a built lagoon on the beach which is perfect for kids.

The second town on Bornholm that’s undergoing a rennaisance with a lot of new places opening up. Along the harbour there are a number of old warehouse that have been converted into art galleries that are worth a leisurely visit. Many local artists are represented, particularly ceramacists, for which Bornholm is famous.
